Stepping back for one more moment: The spectacularly unique Serengeti and Ngorogoro Crater, Tanzania -- Part Two

Sadly we make our way back to the Nogorogoro crater. Our amazing visit to the Serengeti has come to an end.

Serengeti = Endless
A blackbacked jackal looking to find where the action is
A Masai village in the distance
There is something quite special about a big lioness...
Not sure of the name, but a lovely surprising flower alongside the road
The beautiful Superb Starling
All over Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda we saw these 'flags' -- the colours attract Tsetsi flies and, as the fabric is impregnated with poison, the Tsetsi flies are killed when they come in contact with it. A clever and very efficient help to prevent the dreaded sleeping sickness.
A reedbuck couple surveying the scene
The days were cool enough for the hippos to get out of the water and graze
This mother got up onto an old tree stump to sleep. No one to bother her here!
And finally the mother got up out of the water, with a big sigh and rolling of eyes and lay down so that the cubs could come drink
Oh for goodness sake! Your whining is driving me dilly!
More whining and crying and whimpering -- Come on, mom, I am hungry!
Mom was lying in a pool of water and mud, but the baby was whining and crying
Every day in the Serengeti a Red Button Moment
