Anchored in the DRC with dodgy hackers and bumbling bureaucrats

Good evening to all of Wilna's avid readers!

I'm Mathew, Wilna's son in law, and I have been tasked with providing you all with an important update from Africa, via Sydney. The reason I get to blog for the first time in my life is that Wilna has run into a little spot of bother in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Don't worry she's perfectly fine. The problem is that her online 'cyberspace' life was stolen from her. It all started with her gmail accounts being hacked, then her blogs and culminated with facebook locking her out. Imagine life without facebook. I will leave it to Wilna to explain how helpful Google are during such an emergency and what's it's like to be told that, well, Wilna, is not Wilna!

The good news is that somehow we have managed to rescue (hackback?) all accounts and blogs, so hopefully none of you will be receiving offers of love from Latvia or instructions on how to collect your $5,000,000,001 lottery winnings from Freetown.

Due to internet security issues in the DRC, Wilna will not be accessing or posting on this blog until she reaches the relatively safe sand dunes of Namibia or perhaps the wild waters of the Zambezi, dependent on visa issue (~1-2 weeks).

Wilna is still posting to her facebook page, so I suggest you head over there to have a look at her latest photos (probably mostly of immigration desks and passports) and read about how eager Angola is to embrace tourism.

Cheers

Mathew
